Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 she joined the station covering a number of topics, including the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair was promoted to ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 with ABC News Now. In that role she was responsible for anchoring live coverage and news briefs for ABC's digital channel. Nair was co-anchoring World News Now on ABC beginning on September 17th onwards, 2008. until February 18, 2011, as well as America This Morning. In both of the shows Nair was initially paired with Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair told the viewers on World News Now that she did not plan to appear in World News Now after Friday 18th February 2011. Nair also announced that Friday would be one final day of work for ABC News. Peggy Bunker from KDVR Denver was immediately her successor. The edition on February 18, World News Now paid tribute to Nair in all three segments. They also had appearances by current and former coworkers, such as Jeremy Hubbard. In her last day she treated the entire crew to breakfast.
