Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how to prepare restaurant-style meals in your home with simple techniques. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, along with the natural geography. Early on, while living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact from a culinary point of view. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world, as she regularly travels throughout the US in various roles such as speaker and mentor. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it is a privilege to be able to share this passion for life with others.
