Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competing in the UFC flyweight division. Valentina is her older sister, and also a UFC competitors. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport began with her debut as an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011 and the 2016 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003, and she was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko broke her professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She won via second-round TKO followed by 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to get a 3-0 record. Shevchenko was a dedicated kickboxer after which she took a lengthy break from MMA. She came back in 2017 when she faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in an unanimous decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in a unanimous decision. She quit the club in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina showed off her power of striking by tying Nievera with knees. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina received an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win by unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to beat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko won her first three fights before losing her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina was recently lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
